One of the first things to do towards the restoration of
the cemetery was to have a general workday, and fix
the fences where the vandals got in.
May 2007, Oregon Memorials repaired and up righted the
headstones and markers that have been damaged by
vandals over the years. About 80% of the headstones were
damaged.
After the general workday, Ben Brown volunteered to help
improve the cemetery with his eagle scout project. After
spreading tons of crushed rock on the walk/pathways with
300hrs of labor, the cemetery started to look like a project
in the works.
Committee member and parishioner, Richard Fox, Designed
and built the sign over the front gate. It is an exact replica of
the original gate. Richard and his sister donated the labor and
materials. The gate was install two days before Bishop Soto
visited the cemetery in September 2009.
